Abstract:Objective To investigate the influence of evidence-based nursing intervention combining aerosol inhalation in elderly patients with pulmonary heart disease. Methods The elderly patients with pulmonary heart disease (n=314, male 152, female 162, aged from 49 to 73 and average age=62.43±9.15) were chosen from Sept. 2012 to Sept. 2015, and randomly divided into study group and control group (each n=157). The study group was given evidence-based nursing intervention and aerosol inhalation, and control group was given aerosol inhalation and rutine nursing. After intervention, 1-second forced expiratory volume (FEV1), ratio of residual volume and total lung capacity (RV/TLC), left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), 6-minute walk test (6MWT), arterial oxygen saturation (SaO2), arterial partial pressure of carbon dioxide (PaCO2), arterial partial pressure of oxygen (PaO2), D-dimer (DD) and fibrinogen (FIB) were compared between 2 groups. The patients were asked to fill the questionnaire of self-care ability. Results After intervention, FEV1, RV/TLC, LVEF and 6MWD were significantly improved in study group compared with control group (all P<0.05). After intervention, SaO2, PaCO2 and PaO2 in study group were all superior to those in control group (all P<0.05), and DD and FIB in study group were also superior to those in control group (all P<0.05). The indexes of self-care ability were all higher in study group than those in control grouop after intervention (all P<0.05). Conclusion Evidence-based nursing intervention combining aerosol inhalation can improve lung function and self-care ability with significant curative effect in elderly patients with pulmonary heart disease.
