Abstract:Objective To study the consistency and correlation between 64-slice spiral computed tomography (64-slice CT) and echocardiogram in detecting the parameters of left ventricular function, and review the clinical value of 64-slice CT in assessment of left ventricular function. Methods The patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) undergone examinations of echocardiogram and coronary CT angiography (CTA) with an interval<48 h were chosen (n=67, male 42, female 25 and aged from 52 to 78) from May 2013 to Jun. 2014. The parameters of left ventricular function, including left ventricular end-systolic volume (LVESV), left ventricular end-diastolic volume (LVEDV) and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), were detected by using analysis software, and the outcomes were compared with those of echocardiogram. Results All examinations were success in 67 patients. The outcomes of parameters of left ventricular function detected by 64-slice CT were as follows: LVESV was (135.72±63.59) mL, LVEDV, (58.41 ±23.65) mL and LVEF, (63.73±11.03)%. The outcomes of parameters of left ventricular function detected by echocardiogram were as follows: LVESV was (103.21±48.13), LVEDV, (35.65±7.42) mL and LVEF, (65.16±8.65)%. The outcomes of LVESV, LVEDV and LVEF detected by 2 methods were positively correlated to each other (r=0.85, r=0.87, r=0.76). Conclusion The imaging of 64-slice CT can be used for reviewing left ventricular function compared with echocardiogram, and it can be taken as a substitute examination plan in CHD patients.
