Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of nicorandil in ischemic heart disease patients. Methods 160 ischemic heart disease patients were randomly divided into control group(n=80) and Nicorandil group (n=80). The cardiac function was monitored by PICCO. Cardiac index (CI), left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and 6-minute walk test (6MWT) were measured before and after one week and one year of treatment. Major adverse coronary events (MACE, including cardiac death, recurrent myocardial infarction, stroke and acute heart failure) were observed within 1 year. Results After taking nicorandil for seven days, there were no significant differences of CI and LVEF between two groups (P>0.05). After taking nicorandil for 1 year, LVEF[(38.2±5.1)%vs. (44.1± 5.6)%,P<0.05], distance of 6MWT [(223±30)mvs. (324±33)m, P<0.05], and incidence rate of MACE (30.0%vs. 86.3%,P<0.05)were better in Nicorandil group than control group. Conclusions Taking nicorandil in long term can improve cardiac function, reduce incidence rate of MACE and improve the quality of life of ischemic heart disease patients.
