Evidence retrieval methods and resource in practice of evidence-based nursing

Abstract：With the concept of evidence-based nursing has been introduced and penetrated into nursing practice in China, clinical nurses gradually recognize that all nursing decisions should be made based on scientific research evidence. It is one of key factors to retrieve evidence rapidly and precisely in evidence-based nursing practice. Literature retrieval in evidence-based nursing includes two types: evidence application and evidence production. The process of evidence application should be started at the highest level of evidence and process of evidence production should be started at the lowest level of evidence. This article is aiming to introduce the literature sources of evidence-based nursing, such as Australian JBI Database, Nursing Consult Database, USA National Guideline Clearinghouse, Britain’s National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence, and Cochrane Collaboration, etc.
