Basic concepts of conducting a prognosis-related secondary research：an introduction

Abstract：More and more attention has been paid on prognosis-related secondary research. Due to the complexity and particularity of data describing prognosis, confusion and difficulty is often experienced by beginning investigators. Lack of knowledge and appropriate understanding on prognosis analysis, time-to-event variable and relevant statistical approaches are the major causes for this situation. In this article, we have a brief discussion on the fundamentals of prognosis analysis, in order to help researchers of secondary analysis be prepared for potential problems they may encounter during their study.
