Abstract:Objective This objective was to investigate the risk factors of CHD and characteristics of coronary artery among the male CHD (coronary heart disease) patients under the age of 45.Methods 222 patients from 2014 October to 2015 July in the cardiology department of Tianjin Chest Hospital who underwent coronary angiography (CAG) were selected. According to CAG examination results, patients were divided into three groups: young CHD group (n=82, age≤45), older CHD group (n=80, age≥60), young control group (n=60, age≤45). Statistical analysis was conducted on the clinical data of three groups with clinical parameters. The characteristics of coronary artery lesions between young CHD group and older CHD group were compared. The logistic regression analysis was used to detect the independent risk factors of young male patients with CHD.Results The older CHD group and the young control group have significant differences in some baseline data and some clinical indexes when compared with the young CHD group (P<0.05). The coronary artery lesions in young CHD group more occurred in the single vessel which major in the left anterior descending artery. The proportion of Gensini score in the young CHD group was significantly higher than that in the elderly group CHD (P<0.05), while the proportion of the Gensini score > 60 point was significantly lower in the elderly group CHD (P<0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that smoking, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, diabetes, CHD family history were independent risk factors of CHD in young men compared with young control group. Conclusion smoking, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, family history of premature CHD are independent risk factors for young male CHD. The coronary artery lesions in young CHD patients often occurred in the single vessel which major in the left anterior descending artery, and the range and extent of the lesions were lower than the old men.
