Abstract:Objective To analyze the predictive value of glycated albumin (GA) and glycated hemoglobin (HbAlc) to type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) complicating coronary heart disease (CHD).Methods The patients with T2DM complicating CHD (n=33) were chosen as complicating group, patients with simple T2DM (n=30) were chose as T2DM group and health controls (n=30) were chosen as control group from Jan. 2014 to Dec. 2014. The levels of GA and HbA1c were detected in all groups, and sensitivity and specificity of GA and HbA1c in diagnosis of T2DM whether or not complicating CHD were analyzed by using receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC).Results The difference in levels of GA and HbA1c among 3 groups had statistical significance (P<0.05). The optimal value of cutoff point of GA was 15.6%, sensitivity was 72.7%, specificity was 26.7% (the sum of sensitivity and specificity was the largest at this point), and area under curve (AUC) was 0.793. The optimal value of cutoff point of HbA1c was 7.35%, sensitivity was 63.6%, specificity was 43.3% (the sum of sensitivity and specificity was the largest at this point), and AUC was 0.670.Conclusion The levels of GA and HbA1c increase significantly in patients with T2DM complicating CHD, so GA and HbA1c are valuable indexes for predicting whether or not T2DM complicating CHD.
