Abstract:Objective To review the effectiveness of gated myocardial perfusion imaging (G-SPECT) and echocardiogram (ECHO) in diagnosis of left ventricular function. Methods The databases of PubMed, EMbase, CBMdisc, VIP and CNKI were retrieved with computer supplemented by artificial retrieving from Jan. 2000 to Jan. 2015, and published studies related to G-SPECT and ECHO in diagnosis of left ventricular function were chosen. The documents were selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria and data was extracted and checked crossly by 2 reviewers independently. The data was given a Meta-analysis by using Stata12.0 software. Results There were totally 19 studies included involving 1051 cases. The results of Meta-analysis showed that ECHO and G-SPECT had no statistical difference in reviewing left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF,WMD=-0.92, 95%CI:-2.95~1.114,P=0.38) and left ventricular end-diastolic volume (LVEDV,WMD=6.59, 95%CI: -4.76~17.94, P=0.26), and had statistical difference in reviewing left ventricular end-systolic volume (LVESV,WMD=8.21, 95%CI: 0.23~16.19,P=0.04).Conclusion The current evidence indicates that G-SPECT and ECHO are similar to each other in reviewing LVEF and LVEDV, and G-SPECT is better than ECHO in reviewing LVESV.
