Abstract:Objective To analyze the predictive value of N-terminal pro brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI).Methods AMI patients (n=100, male 54 and female 46) were chosen from Oct. 2012 to Dec. 2014, and according to major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (MACCE, such as encephalorrhagia, cerebral infarction, hypertension, heart failure and arrhythmia) divided into MACCE group and non-MACCE group (eachn=50), and at the same time 50 health controls were chosen as health group. The levels of N-terminal pro brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), C-reactive protein (CRP) and creatine kinase MB (CK-MB) were detected in all groups, and NT-pro-BNP level was detected after AMI attack for 6 h, 24 h and 72 h in all patients. Results The levels of CRP, CK-MB and NT-proBNP increased in MACCE group and non-MACCE group compared with health group (all P<0.05). The levels of CRP and CK-MB decreased and level of NT-proBNP increased in MACCE group compared with non-MACCE group (all P<0.05). The level of NT-proBNP increased after AMI attack for 6 h, 24 h and 72 h in MACCE group compared with non-MACCE group (all P<0.05). The level of NT-proBNP decreased after AMI attack for 24 h and 72 h compared with that after AMI attack for 6 h (all P<0.05). In predicting MACCE occurrence in AMI patients, the best cutoff value of NT-proBNP was 4200 pg/mL, sensitivity was 81.53% and specificity was 91.47%.Conclusion NT-proBNP can effectively predict the occurrence of MACCE in AMI patients.
