Abstract:Objective To observe the influence of rosuvastatin in different doses on myocardial fibrosis and ventricular remodeling in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI).Methods AMI patients (n=64 and aged from 50 to 74) were chosen from Jun. 2013 to Jun. 2014, and treated with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and then given rosuvastatin based on routine therapy. The patients were divided into low-dose group (10 mg once every night) and high-dose group (20 mg once every night). The levels of Nterminal pro brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) and Galectin-3 (Gal-3) were detected before and 1 w, 4 w, and 24 w after PCI. The indexes of LVEDd, LVESd, LVEDV, LVESV and LVEF were detected with echocardiogram after emergency PCI and after admission for 24 h.Results The level of NT-proBNP decreased in 2 groups (P<0.05) after PCI for 4 w and 24 w compared with that after PCI for 1 w, and decreased more significantly in high-dose group (P<0.05). The levels of MMP-9 and Gal-3 increased significantly in 2 groups after PCI for 1 w (P<0.05) but the difference had no statistical significance between 2 groups. The levels of MMP-9 and Gal-3 decreased significantly in 2 groups after PCI for 24 w compared with those after PCI for 1 w and 4 w (P<0.05) and decreased more significantly in high-dose group (P<0.05). LVEDD, LVESD, LVEDV and LVESV decreased significantly (P<0.05) and LVEF increased significantly (P<0.05) in 2 groups after PCI for 4 w and 24 w compared with those after PCI for 1 w, which was more significantly in high-dose group (P<0.05).Conclusion Rosuvastatin in high dose can effective relieve myocardial fibrosis and ventricular remodeling, and improve heart function after AMI.
