Abstract:Objective To discuss the relationship among brain natriuretic peptide (BNP), high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and clinical prognosis in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Methods ACS patients undergone PCI (n=120) were chosen from Oct. 2012 to Jan. 2014, and divided into groups according to levels of plasma BNP and hs-CRP. All groups were given examinations of echocardiogram for detecting LVEF, LVEDd, LVEDV and LVESV after PCI for 3-5 d, 1 m and 3 m respectively. The mortality, incidence of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) and heart function were followed up during hospitalization and 30 d and 3 m after PCI. Results The mortality and incidence of MACE showed a significant ascending trend as BNP and hs-CRP increased in ACS patients (P<0.05). BNP was negatively related to LVEF (r=-0.782, P<0.001), and positively related to hs-CRP (r=0.736, P<0.001). Conclusion The level changes of hs-CRP and BNP is significant to the prognosis in patients with ACS undergone PCI.
