Abstract:Objective To compare the difference in microalbuminuria (MAU) and von Willebrand factor (vWF) between hypertensive patients with metabolic syndrome (MS) and patients with only hypertension (HTN), and discuss the relationship among MAU, vWF and MS. Methods Hypertensive patients (n=100) were chosen from Mar. 2013 to May 2015, and into HTN+MS group (n=56) and HTN group (n=44). The changes of 24-h urinary albumin excretion rate (UAER), morning urine albumin/creatinine ratio (ACR) and vWF level were compared in 2 groups. Results The levels of vWF and UAER were higher in HTN+MS group than those in HTN group (P<0.05), and there was no difference in ACR. Correlation analysis showed that UAE was significantly correlated to ACR (r=0.574, P<0.05), but they were not correlated to vWF. The results of Logistic regression analysis showed that BMI, TG, UAER and vWF were correlated to the occurrence of MS. Conclusion The levels of MAU and vWF increase in hypertensive patients with MS compared with those with only HTN, and MAU and vWF have a improving effect on the occurrence of MS.
