Abstract:Objective To discuss and review the predictive value of mean platelet volume (MPV) and high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) to coronary heart disease (CHD). Methods CHD patients (n=472) undergone examination of coronary angiography (CAG) were chosen from Jan. 2011 to Dec. 2013, and divided, according to the outcomes of CAG, into CHD group (n=225) and control group (n=247). All patients were given fast blood biochemical and routine tests before CAG, and all indexes were compared in 2 groups. The risk factors for CHD were analyzed and reviewed by using Logistic multi-factor regression analysis. Results There was statistical difference in blood sugar, creatine kinase MB (CK-MB), homocysteine (Hcy), low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C), MPV and hs-CRP between 2 groups (P<0.05). Logistic multi-factor regression analysis showed that smoking, Hcy (OR=1.027, 95%CI:1.007~1.046, P=0.007), MPV (OR=2.024, 95%CI:1.597~2.565, P<0.001) and hs-CRP (OR=1.079, 95%CI:1.044~1.115, P<0.001) were risk factors for CHD. Conclusion MPV and hs-CRP have some predictive value to CHD.
