Abstract:Objective To observe the levels of serum visfatin and Lp-PLA2 in patients with different typed hyperlipidemia, and analyze the correlation between them. Methods The cases with physical examinations (n=540, male 295 and female 245) were chosen from Apr. 2011 to Dec. 2011, and then divided, according to the levels of TC, TG and HDL-C, into 5 groups: normal group (n=142), high-TC group (n=103, TC>5.18 mmol/L), high-TG group (n=100, TG>1.7 mmol/L), mixed group (n=100, TC>5.18 mmol/L and TG>1.7 mmol/L) and low-HDL-C group (n=95, HDL-C<1.04 mmol/L). The levels of serum visfatin and Lp-PLA2 were detected in all cases, and the correlation between them was analyzed. Results The difference in levels of serum visfatin and Lp-PLA2 had no statistical significance between normal group and other groups (allP>0.05). The level of visfatin was negatively correlated to level of Lp-PLA2 in normal group (r=-0.42,P<0.01). The level of visfatin was negatively correlated to level of Lp-PLA2 in high-TC group, high-TG group, mixed group and low-HDL-C group (r=-0.23,r=-0.33,r=-0.54,r=-0.58, allP<0.01).Conclusion Visfatin and Lp-PLA2 take part in the regulation of lipid metabolism, which may be related to the interaction between them.
