Abstract:Objective To review the curative effect and safety of modified Zhigancao Tang on dilated cardiomyopathy. Methods The data were retrieved with computer and manual retrieval, and given a Meta-analysis by using RevMan5.2.5 software.Resutls There were 6 randomized controlled trials (RCT) included involving 408 patients with dilated cardiomyopathy. The results of Meta-analysis showed that the curative effect of routine Western therapy combining modified Zhigancao Tang was better than that of routine therapy (RR=1.38,95%CI:1.07~1.78、RR=1.29,95%CI:1.11,1.49). LVEF increasedMD=4.46,95%CI:2.93~6.00), LVEDd decreasedMD=2.45, 95%CI:0.77~4.68), NYHA grading was improved(RR=1.54,95%CI:1.25~1.91), cardio-thoracic proportion decreased (MD=4.30,95%CI:1.20~7.40), 6MWT increased (MD=141.00,95%CI:136.13~145.87), LVMI was improved (MD=23.43,95%CI:13.73~33.13), and myocardial fibrosis was relieved (MD=38.25,95%CI:18.02~58.49). The influence of routine Western therapy combining modified Zhigancao Tang on blood pressure, heart rate, ventricular remodeling and left ventricular volume were required more clinical trials for further observation. There were no adverse reactions observed in 2 groups, and fatality rate had no statistical significance between 2 groups (RR=0.5,95%CI:0.10~2.53).Conclusion Modified Zhigancao Tang can relieve the clinical symptoms and has a trend of improving long-term heart function ending in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy.
