Abstract:Objective To observe the influence of continuous nursing on patients with chronic heart failure (CHF), and provide evidence for the application of CHF continuous nursing. Methods CHF patients (n=80, age<75) were chosen from Dec. 2012 to Dec. 2014, and divided into routine nursing group and continuous nursing group. The general data of age, sex, NYHA grading and in-hospital days, and post-discharge compliance (drug taking, diet, weight control and excises), quality of life (Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire and self-rating anxiety scale) and clinical indexes (re-hospitalization, onset of acute heart failure and cardiac death) were recorded and compared in 2 groups. Results There was no statistical difference in general data between 2 groups (P>0.05). After discharge for 3 m and 6 m, compliance was better in continuous nursing group than that in routine nursing group (P<0.05). The quality of life was higher (P<0.05), and anxiety degree was lower (P<0.05) in continuous nursing group than those in routine nursing group after 6 m. During follow-up period, the rate of re-hospitalization was lower in continuous nursing group than that in routine nursing group (P<0.05). There was no statistical difference in onset of acute heart failure and incidence of cardiac death between 2 groups (all P>0.05). Conclusion Continuous nursing can improve compliance and quality of life, reduce rate of re-hospitalization in CHF patients after discharge.
