Abstract:Objective To discuss the risk factors in elderly patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) complicating abnormal heart rate variability (HRV). Methods The elderly patients (n=143) were chosen from Jun. 2013 to Jun. 2014, and divided, according to HRV, into HRV normal group (n=91, SDNN≥102 ms) and HRV abnormal group (n=52, SDNN<102 ms). The possible risk factors of abnormal HRV were analyzed. Results There was statistical difference in CHD course, hypertension course, diabetes course and fasting plasma glucose (FPG) between 2 groups (P<0.05). Multi-factor Logistic regression analysis showed that hypertension course (OR=7.485, 95%CI:0.909~0.984, P=0.006), diabetes course (OR=8.441, 95%CI:0.856~0.970, P=0.004) and FPG (OR=4.619, 95%CI:1.022~1.601, P=0.032) were major risk factors of decreased HRV in elderly CHD patients. Conclusion As the extensions of hypertension course and diabetes course, the risk of cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy will increase in elderly CHD patients. The level of FPG is lower in elderly CHD patients with abnormal HRV.
