Abstract:Objective To observe the changes of level of plasma N-terminal pro C-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proCNP) in acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Methods ACS patients (n=106, male 71, female 35 and average age=55.4±12.2) were chosen from June 2013 to June 2014. The healthy controls were chosen as control group (n=72), and ACS patients were divided into unstable angina pectoris group (UAP group, n=68) and acute myocardial infarction group (AMI group, n=38). The level of plasma NT-proCNP was detected in all groups immediate hospitalization and 1 w after hospitalization. Results Compared with control group, the immediate level of NT-proCNP increased in UAP group [(5.7±1.9) pmol/L vs. (19.9±6.5) pmol/L] and AMI group [(5.7±1.9) pmol/L vs. (21.4±3.1) pmol/L, all P<0.01]. The post-1-w level of NT-proCNP increased in UAP group and AMI group compared with control group (all P<0.01). The immediate and post-1-w levels of NT-proCNP increased in AMI group compared with UAP group (all P<0.05). The post-1-w level of NT-proCNP decreased compared with immediate level of NT-proCNP in all groups (all P<0.05). Conclusion The level of NT-proCNP increases in ACS patients, while will decrease 1 w after hospitalization.
