Abstract:Objective To analyze the correlation among non-high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (non-HDL-C)/high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C) [i.e. atherosclerosis index (AI)], low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C)/HDL-C, atherogenic index of plasma (AIP), lipoprotein combine index (LCI) and coronary lesion severity in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD). Methods The patients hospitalized due to precordial discomfort and undergone coronary angiography (n=148, male 98, female 50 and aged from 40 to 65) were chosen from Jan. 2008 to Dec. 2011. All patients were divided into CHD group (n=86) and control group (n=62) according to the outcomes of coronary angiography. The levels of total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), LDL-C and HDL-C were detected, and non-HDL-C, AI, LDL-C/HDL-C, AIP and LCI were calculated in all patients. The coronary lesion severity was assessed by using Gensini method, and correlation between serum lipid parameters and coronary lesion severity was analyzed. Results Compared with control group, TC, LDL-C, non-HDL-C, AI and LDL-C/HDL-C increased significantly (all P<0.01), and HDL-C decreased (P<0.05) in CHD group. Spearman analysis showed that non-HDL-C, AI, LCI and LDL-C/HDL-C were positively correlated to coronary lesion severity (r=0.247, r=0.314, r=0.178, r=0.278, all P<0.05), and HDL-C was negatively correlated to Gensini integral (r=-0.231, P<0.05). Conclusion Atherogenic index shows significant difference between control group and CHD group, and positively correlates to coronary lesion severity.
