Correlation between cardiovascular diseases and risk factors in outskirts country of Xi'an area

Abstract:Objective To analyze the risk of ischemia cardiovascular diseases (ICVD) in population without history of cardiovascular diseases in the next decade through investigating the epidemiology of cardiovascular diseases and risk factors in outskirts country of Xi'an area. Methods The population was given questionnaire, physical and biochemical examinations, and statistics of cardiovascular diseases and risk factors. The population without history of cardiovascular diseases was reviewed with the assessment form of cardiovascular diseases risk in Chinese population in the next decade for analyzing the risk of ICVD in the next decade. Results The standardized prevalence rate of stroke and coronary heart disease was, respectively, 0.72% and 2.31%, and standardized prevalence rate of hypertension, diabetes, abnormal blood fat, overweight, obesity, central obesity was, respectively, 14.7%, 5.98%, 15.9%, 10.2%, 3.82%and 9.81%. The detection rate of ICVD risk≥10%in the next decade was 15.8%in the population aged from 40 to 59 without history of cardiovascular diseases. Conclusion The prevalence rate of cardiovascular diseases and its risk factors increased significantly in the population in outskirts country of Xi'an area. The risk of ICVD is higher in the next decade. It is suggested that the intervention to risk factors should be strengthened as soon as possible.
