Abstract:Objective To observe the influences of therapy integrated Chinese and Western medicine (Western basic treatment combining Huoxin Wan) on heart function and blood pressure (BP) in patients with stable angina pectoris (SAP). Methods According to age, sex, BMI and BP, 30 patients with SAP were divided into group treated with routine Western drugs (group I) and group treated with therapy integrated Chinese and Western medicine (group II, each n=15) by using paired design method. Group I was orally given aspirin (100 mg/d), betaloc (50 mg/d) and atorvastatin (10 mg/d), and group II was additionally given Huoxin Wan (3 pieces a day). After 8 w, the changes of heart function, BP, blood fat and homocysteine (Hcy) were compared in 2 groups before and after treatment. Results After treatment for 8 w, the levels of diastolic blood pressure (DBP), TG, TC, LDL-C and Hcy trended to decrease, and DBP had statistical difference (P<0.05) in group I. The levels of LVEF and LVFS increased significantly, levels of systolic blood pressure (SBP), DBP, TG, TC, LDL-C and Hcy trended to decreased, and levels of SBP and Hcy had statistical difference (P<0.05) in group I. The comparison in the difference of all indexes before and after treatment showed that the difference in SBP, LVEF and LVFS had statistical significance (P<0.05). Conclusion The therapy integrated Chinese and Western medicine (Western basic treatment combining Huoxin Wan) can improve heart function and reduce SBP significantly, which has more advantages compared with Western routine treatment.
