Abstract:Objective To discuss the curative effect of high-dose valsartan on ventricular remodeling after acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods AMI patients (n=73) were randomly divided into control group treated with normal-dose valsartan (80 mg/d, n=36) and observation group treated with high-dose valsartan (160 mg/d, n=37). The differences in the parameters of left ventricular structure including LVESD, LVEDD, IVSD and LVPWD, and parameters of left ventricular function including LVESV, LVEDV, LVEF and CO were compared between two groups. Results In two groups, LVESD, LVEDD, IVSD, LVPWD, LVESV, LVEDV, LVEF and CO were all improved after treatment (all P<0.05). Compared with control group after treatment, the above improvements were more significant in observation group (all P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 13.5%in observation group and 8.1%in control group (P>0.05). Conclusion High-dose valsartan can significantly ameliorate ventricular remodeling after AMI.
