Abstract:Objective To review systematically the relationship between P wave dispersion (Pd) and recurrence after radiofrequency ablation in the patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAF). Methods The databases of PubMed, Embase, WangFang, VIP and CNKI were retrieved for collecting case-control studies on the relationship between Pd and recurrence after radiofrequency ablation in PAF patients. After screening according to inclusion criterion, the studies were given a Meta-analysis by using Revman5.2 software. Results There were totally 7 studies included and among them 3 in English and 4 in Chinese. Funnel polt test showed possible bias. The outcomes of Meta-analysis showed that Pd value was significantly higher in recurrent group than that in cured group before radiofrequency ablation (MD=10.37, 95%CI:4.71-16.03) and the difference had statistical significance (Z=3.59, P=0.0003). Conclusion The PAF patients with higher Pd before radiofrequency ablation have higher recurrent risk after the ablation, so Pd can be taken as one of predictive indicators of PAF recurrence.
