Abstract:Objective To review systematically the relationship between C825T gene polymorphism of GNB3 and risk of essential hypertension (EH) in Chinese population. Methods The databases of PubMed, Embase, CNKI, CBM and WangFang Database were retrieved independently by 2 reviewers for collecting the case-control studies on correlation between C825T gene polymorphism of GNB3 and EH in Chinese population from database establish time to Sept. 2013. After literatre screening and data extracting, the included studies were given quality reviewing according to NOS and a Meta-analysis by using Stata12.0 software. Results There were 30 case-control studies included involving 5054 EH patients and 5565 control persons. The results of Meta-analysis showed that between C825T gene polymorphism of GNB3 and risk of EH had no statistical difference in Chinese population [TT vs. CC:(OR=1.13, 95%CI:0.89-1.43, P=0.33);TT vs. CT+CC:(OR=1.04, 95%CI:0.86-1.26, P=0.70);CT vs. CC:(OR=1.08, 95%CI:0.98-1.19, P=0.11);TT+CT vs. CC:(OR=1.11, 95%CI:0.96-1.29, P=0.15);T vs. C:(OR=1.06, 95%CI:0.95-1.20, P=0.30)]. Conclusion The current evidence indicates that C825T gene polymorphism of GNB3 is not correlated to risk of EH.
