Abstract:Objective To study the influences of papaverine preserving fluid containing ketotifen fumarate on the expressions of vascular endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) and endothelin-1 (ET-1) in vein graft of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Methods The samples of residual great saphenous vein (GSV, n=20) were collected from the patients treated with CABG and without lesion of GSV, and then the samples were preserved respectively in routine papaverine preserving fluid (group A) and papaverine preserving fluid containing ketotifen fumarate (group B) for 1 h. The expressions of ICAM-1 and ET-1 were detected by using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results The expressions of ICAM-1 [(32.20±7.70) ng/mL vs. (36.69±5.75) ng/mL] and ET-1 [(21.10±7.30) ng/mL vs. (21.69±7.71) ng/mL] were lower in group B than those in group A (P<0.05). Conclusion The papaverine preserving fluid containing ketotifen fumarate in vitro can inhibit the expressions of ICAM-1 and ET-1 and has protective effect on vein graft.
