Abstract:Objective:To conduct a cost-effectiveness analysis of recombinant human acidic fibroblast growth factor(rh-aFGF)vs basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF)in the treatment of burns, providing evidence-based support for rational drug use and healthcare decision-making.Methods:A meta-analysis was performed to compare the efficacy and safety of the two treatments.A decision tree model was constructed to evaluate cost-effectiveness and conduct sensitivity analysis for both regimens. Results:Nine studies involving 821 burn patients were included.Meta-analysis results showed that the wound healing rate in the rh-aFGF group was 12%significantly higher than that in the bFGF group[RD=0.12,95%CI(0.05,0.18),P<0.001],the complete wound healing time in the rh-aFGF group was 2.95 days shorter compared to the bFGF group[MD=-2.95,95%CI(-3.93,-1.97),P<0.001].Both regimens demonstrated good safety profiles.Cost-effectiveness analysis revealed that when the effectiveness measures were wound healing rate and complete wound healing time, the incremental cost-effectiveness ratios(ICERs)for the two groups were RMB 28 010.22 per case and RMB-1 120.41 per day, respectively. When the willingness-to-pay(WTP)threshold exceeded RMB 28 010.22,the rh-aFGF regimen demonstrated greater cost-effectiveness.Sensitivity analysis confirmed the robustness of the base-case results. Conclusion:Compared to the bFGF regimen, the rh-aFGF regimen demonstrated superior clinical efficacy in treating burns with comparable safety. For patients with a WTP greater than RMB 25 000,selecting the rh-aFGF regimen is superior to the bFGF regimen.
