Expert Consensus Working Group on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Insomnia with Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine,Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine
Abstract:Insomnia disorder is a common clinical sleep problem that significantly impairs patients'social and occupational functions as well as the quality of daily life, imposing a heavy burden on individuals and society.Based on expert interviews, questionnaire surveys, and a systematic review of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)and Western medicine(WM)diagnosis and treatment for insomnia, adhering to the principle of"taking evidence-based practice as the foundation, consensus as the core, and experience as a reference",this consensus summarizes the best available evidence, fully integrates expert experience and patient preferences, and finally formulates 20 recommendation opinions and 21 consensus suggestions.During the drafting process of the consensus, opinions were collected and peer review was conducted nationwide through a combination of online and offline methods for soliciting comments. This consensus is applicable to TCM physicians,WM physicians, and integrated TCM-WM physicians in hospitals at all levels,as well as clinical physicians in primary health care institutions. Its purpose is to emphasize the advantages of integrated TCM-WM in alleviating symptoms, controlling disease progression, and improving patients'quality of life, with a prominent focus on clinical practical orientation.
