The application and reflection on the use of digital technology in biomedical technology innovation

Abstract：To explore the current situation of digital technology application and innovation in China's biomedical industry,this paper focuses on the technological integration between the core industries of the digital economy and the biomedical industry.Based on patent data retrieved from the incoPat database,the paper analyzes the number of digital technology patents in the biomedical industry and the distribution of patent applications across specialized domains from 2020 to 2024.The research aims to provide an in-depth assessment of the innovation level,developmental characteristics,and emerging trends in China's digital-biomedical integration.The research results show that the number of digital technology patents in China's biomedical industry has steadily increased over the past five year,with the global share reaching 57.4%in 2024.These findings reflect China's leading position worldwide in digital biomedical innovation and a consistent upward trajectory.However,from the perspective of the application of patent technology outcomes,the application of digital technology patents in China is mainly concentrated in the fields of medical treatment and method processes,while innovation in the disease field is still insufficient,and there is a need to strengthen technical efforts for specific diseases.
