Abstract:Lipid-based nanodelivery drug systems, which emerged in the 1990s,constitute a novel class of drug delivery platforms, primarily including liposomes, lipid nanoparticles, micelles, and nucleic acid-lipid complexes. These systems have demonstrated significant clinical potential in diverse therapeutic areas, including oncology, infectious diseases, vaccine development, and gene therapy, with particularly promising prospects in nucleic acid drug delivery. This review systematically elaborates on the definition and classification of lipid-based nanodrug delivery systems, outlines the current developmental status of both marketed and investigational drugs, discusses their technological advantages and challenges, and presents an outlook on future research directions.Overall,lipid-based nanodelivery systems exhibit substantial potential in the field of drug delivery.Future research should focus on enhancing targeted delivery efficiency, improving safety profiles, and promoting combination therapy strategies to achieve more precise and effective applications in the treatment of various diseases.
