Abstract:In recent years, stem cell products,as a hot spot in the field of biomedicine, have attracted much attention for their potential in disease treatment and tissue repair. To ensure the safety of stem cell products, the evaluation of their potential tumorigenicity is a key step in preclinical evaluation.Tumorigenicity evaluation aims to identify possible risks of tumor formation in stem cell products, which is essential for patient safety. With the advancement of biotechnology, preclinical tumorigenicity evaluation techniques for stem cell therapy products are also developing. This paper reviewed the research progress in non-clinical tumorigenicity evaluation techniques of stem cell products, analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of current tumorigenicity evaluation techniques of stem cell products through detailed introduction to in vivo and in vitro evaluation methods, and introduced the application of emerging 3D culture, and high-throughput screening technology in tumorigenicity evaluation of stem cell products in recent years. To explore the potential of new detection technology in evaluating tumorigenicity of stem cells, and to provide useful references for optimization and improvement of tumorigenicity evaluation methods of stem cell products.
