Chemical components and pharmacological action of Ligusticum chuanxiong and predictive analysis on its quality markers

Abstract：Chuanxiong Rhizoma(CX)is one of the most important medicinal herbs for promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis.It is widely used in clinical to treat diseases of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular,nervous system,respiratory system and other systems.In this paper,the research progress of chemical constituents and pharmacological effects of CX is reviewed.The quality marker(Q-markers)of CX was predicted and analyzed based on five aspects,including ingredient-drug effect,ingredient specificity,ingredient detectability,processing method and producing region.Senkyunolide A,senkyunolide Ⅰ,ligustilide,butenylphthalein,ferulic acid,coniferide ferulate,and tetramethylpyrazine are suggested as alternative components for the Q-markers of CX.The above seven components can be used as the indicators to improve the overall quality of CX,providing reference for its scientific application.
