Abstract：The echinocandin class of antibiotics is widely recognized for its unique antibacterial mechanism,offering a good balance of safety and efficacy.These agents are widely used in the treatment of invasive fungal infections,and are considered as a new generation of antibiotics for this purpose.Compared with other antifungal drugs,echinocandins excert their fungicidal effect by inhibiting the synthesis of fungal cell walls,ensuring their efficacy while reducing their toxicity to humans.This review introduces the characteristics,mechanism of action,advantages and limitations of different types of antifungal drugs,and summarizes the antibacterial principle,resistance mechanism and clinical application of echinocandin antibiotics.
