Abstract：Developing drugs and medical devices for rare diseases is an important task to safeguard people's health.It is also an important measure to enhance patients'and their families'sense of gain,happiness,and security.Previous studies have focused on the development efficiency and security level of drugs and medical devices for rare diseases,with little discussion on the value to the industry.This study found that the development of drugs and medical devices for rare diseases is a typical case of implementing the new development philosophy and promoting high-quality development which has economic,technological,ecological,and humanistic values.It provides a breakthrough for seizing the strategic high ground of life science and technology and creates new opportunities for leveraging resource advantages and strengthening China's bio-pharmaceutical industry.Exploring the value of the development of drugs and medical devices for rare diseases can help promote consensus among all stakeholders and work together to improve the health and well-being of the public.
