Abstract:Objective:To study the adsorption process of the extraction of Gardenia jasminoides with macroporous resin using geniposide as the primary indicator.Investigated the effect of different conditions on adsorption was investigated, and the adsorption process was simulated by using appropriate adsorption model. Methods:Static and dynamic adsorption experiments with macroporous resin were used to determine the concentration of geniposide in the effluent, and a mathematical model was proposed for the dynamic adsorption curves using the integrated rate model in combination with the thermodynamic data of geniposide adsorption. Results:The least squares method was used to find the minimum mean squared error between experimental and simulated values. The integrated rate model demonstrated a goodfit for the adsorption process of the extract solution. Conclusion:The adsorption of extracts on macroporous resins was in accordance with the Langmuir isothermal adsorption model, and the dynamic adsorption mass transfer coefficients were deduced by fitting the penetration curves with the integrated rate model, indicating that this model can fit the adsorption penetration curves well and provide a predictive basis for industrial production and purification.
