Abstract:Objective:To observe the effects of Tibetan medicine on the negative nucleic acid conversion rate and symptom resolution rate in mild or asymptomatic COVID-19 patients in plateau area. Methods:A total of 629 patients were randomly assigned to three groups:Tibetan medicine group 1(Cuitang granules+Liugan pills),Tibetan medicine group 2(Liugan pills)and conventional treatment group(antiviral drug Azfudine tablets),using random number table.Following treatment, negative nucleic acid conversion rate and symptom resolution rate were evaluated. Results:Tibetan medicine group 2 has a significant advantage in reducing the time for nucleic acid to turn negative;both group 1 and group 2 of Tibetan medicine have better efficacy in symptom disappearance rate than the conventional treatment group(P<0.05);the hospitalization time of patients in Tibetan medicine group 2 is shorter than that of Tibetan medicine group 1 and the conventional treatment group, showing certain advantages. Conclusion:Tibetan medicine has certain advantages in relieving symptoms caused by COVID-19 infection such as cough, headache and sore throat. It can shorten the length of hospital stay of patients and improve the negative conversion rate of nucleic acid.
