Research progress in organoantimony-bismuth complexes in antitumor therapy

Abstract：Cancer is a serious threat to human health and life.Drug therapy is one of the important means to treat cancer.Metal chemotherapeutic drugs represented by platinum complexes play an important role in cancer clinic,but serious side effects and high drug resistance seriously limit their actual efficacy and application scope.Antimony and bismuth in the nitrogen group have a long history of medicinal use and have potential antitumor activities.The study of their coordination and structure-activity relationship can improve the bioavailability and antitumor activity of organometallic antimony bismuth complexes.Based on the ligand characteristics of organoantimony-bismuth complexes,the coordination patterns,anti-tumor effects and potential mechanisms of organoantimony-bismuth complexes containing nitrogen,sulfur and oxy-heterocyclic ligand were reviewed in this paper,in order to provide references for the research and development of organoantimony-bismuth complexes.
