Abstract:Pharmacotoxicology,as a discipline that examines the impact of chemical substances on living organisms, strives to guarantee the safety and efficacy of drugs. With the advancement of technology in the fields of cell biology, molecular biology, and computer science, pharmacotoxicology has evolved from intuitive observation into a highly specialized discipline over the course of centuries. Traditional drug toxicology primarily relies on animal experiments and in vitro studies, yet these methods require ongoing improvement to meet the increasingly complex demands of compound safety evaluation. Modern drug toxicology has embraced innovative technologies such as induced pluripotent stem cells,three-dimensional tissue models, microphysiological systems, advanced imaging techniques, artificial intelligence,high-throughput screening, and adverse outcome pathway to enhance the precision and dependability of research. In summary, pharmacotoxicology plays a pivotal role in safeguarding human health and necessitates ongoing adaption to novel challenges and consistent advancement.
