Abstract:Objective: To further macroscopically analyze the overall distribution of clinical trials in our country and provide data reference for decision-making. Methods: Collecting and organizing the data released by China Food and Drug Administration and the National Bureau of Statistics of the People's Republic of China, and displaying data through the use of Tableau big data visualization analysis software. Clustering characteristics of the number of institutions in the provinces were analyzed by using SPSS 20. 0 software. Results: The distribution of drug clinical trial institutions in each province was related to the number of drug manufacturing enterprises ( r =0. 630, P = 0. 000) and the cumulative regional GDP of each province ( r = 0. 778, P = 0. 000), and was irrelevant to the number of comprehensive hospitals in the provinces ( r = 0. 232, P = 0. 209). The number of institutions is far from meeting the needs of pharmaceutical manufacturers. The cluster number was clustered into three categories according to the number of institutions in the provinces, of which relatively sparse institutions accounted for48. 4%, including Heilongjiang, Sichuan and Yunnan provinces. Conclusion: The resources of clinical trials in our country have not been effectively utilized. Some areas still have great potential to be exploited.
