Abstract：Objective: To clarify the application of fingerprint characteristic spectrum technology in traditional Chinese medicinal materials and Chinese patent medicine in the experimental examples. Methods: The TLC fingerprint of Guanmaining capsule, the HPLC fingerprint of Niuhuangxiaoyan tablets, the UPLC-MS fingerprint of Shengmai injection and the HPLC fingerprint of Astragalus herbs were taken as the examples to explain the application of characteristic spectrum and fingerprint technology in traditional Chinese medicinal materials and Chinese patent medicine. Results: The fingerprint technology could be applied in overall rating of traditional Chinese medicinal materials and Chinese patent medicine, to achieve the purpose of the quality control. Conclusion:Fingerprint characteristic spectrum technology can be applied for the same kind of medicines, and quality control of herbal medicines, providing useful methods for reference.
