Abstract:Objective: To analyze the therapeutic effect of rebamipide for helicobacter pylori (Hp)negative gastric ulcers, and observe the change of cytokines after treatment. Methods: Ninety Hp negative gastric ulcer patients were chosen, who were diagnosed by endoscopy and 13C urea breath test, and divided into PPI group, bismuth+PPI group and rebamipide+PPI group randomly. The three groups received pantoprazole alone, pantoprazole plus bismuth and rebamipide plus pantoprazole separately for 4 weeks. The effect of the treatment and the levels of cytokines after the treatment were compared among the three groups. Results: The rebamipide + PPI group achieved a better effect than the PPI group. And the levels of IL-1, IL-6, and MDA of the rebamipide+PPI group were significantly lower than those of the other two groups, while the levels of EGF, PGE2, NO and VEGF were significantly higher (P <0. 05 ). Conclusion: Rebamipide is effective for the treatment of Hp negative gastric ulcers. And rebamipide can reduce the levels of aggressive factors and increase the systhesis of protective factors.
