Abstract:Influenza A is a common disease with obvious symptoms and high mortality. People are vulnerable to it, but the efficacies of the current main antiviral medicines are not satisfactory. Heat shock proteins (HSPs)are stress-induced proteins with highly conservative amino acid sequences. They have many protective functions such as molecular assistance, apoptosis resistance and immune regulation. It was found that HSPs play an important role in the life circle of influenza A virus, helping activate the replication process and stabilize viral client proteins. This discovery provides a new idea for the development of antiviral drugs by focusing on HSPs. Heat shock protein inhibitors such as geldanamycin have become a research hotspot as important candidate drugs.
