Current research status of chemical constituents and pharmacological effects of Dendrobium nobile

Abstract：Dendrobium nobile as a common traditional Chinese medicine has a long history of medicinal application.At present,domestic and international scholars have conducted extensive and thorough research on Dendrobium nobile.Through systematic searching of domestic and foreign journals and databases,the chemical constituents and pharmacological effects of Dendrobium nobile were summarized.According to structural types,its chemical constituents can be classified as alkaloids,glycosides,phenanthrenes and bibenzils etc.There are many kinds of chemical constituents in Dendrobium nobile,among which dendrobine is the characteristic one.The pharmacological effects of Dendrobium nobile are mainly manifested as anticancer,hypoglycemic and neurological protective actions and so on.The purpose of this article is to provide scientific basis for development and clinical application of Dendrobium nobile.
