Abstract:Development of safe and efficient gene carriers for nucleic acid drug delivery is significant and has great potential for the treatment of genetic diseases. With the concerns of immunogenicity and feasibility for large-scale production,non-viral gene vectors have attracted considerable attention compared with viral gene vectors. The nano-materials gene carriers have more advantages including uniform particle size, simple preparation, easy surface modification and good biocompatibility, which can improve cell transfection efficiency and reduce cytotoxicity. In this paper, based on the newest researches of nano-material carriers,a detailed review and brief analysis of non-viral gene vectors including metal nano-materials,mesoporous silica nano-materials,inorganic calcium nano-materials and fluorescent carbon dots nano-materials were made.
