Abstract:Objective:To compare the difference in two methods by determining the aerodynamic particle size distribution. Methods:The aerodynamic particle size distribution of salbutamol sulfate aerosol was determined by twin-stage impactor (TSI) and Anderson cascade impactor (ACI),separately, and the difference of above two methods was evaluated. Results:The twin-stage impactor method had poor stability and wide variation. The diameter range of aerodynamic particle size obtained from TSI was different from that from ACI.ACI had good results and less variability of data.Aerodynamic particle size distribution and fine particle dose of salbutamol sulfate aerosol could be calculated by ACI.Conclusion:Compared with TSI,ACI is comprehensive and reliable to evaluate fine particle dose.It has the significance of in vitro performance.
