Abstract:Objective:To analyze and compare Andersen cascade impactor (ACI) and next generation impactor (NGI),and scan zanamivir-loading drug carrier by electron microscopy. Methods:The particle size of zanamivir dry powder inhaler (DPI) was measured by ACI and NGI.The combination of drug and drug-carrier was determined by microscopy. Results:Fine particle drug doses with different size aerodynamic diameter as well as aerodynamic diameter distribution were able to be determined by ACI and NGI.The microscopic result showed that the micrpowders partially absorbed onto the drug-carrier lactose. Conclusion:The aerodynamic diameter distribution of zanamivir dry power inhaler is related with combination of the drug and drug-carrier.
