Abstract:Class Ⅱ drugs in biopharmaceutical classification system are lipophilic and hydrophobic.Their dissolving and release in gastric acid, and absorption from the gastrointestinal tract are the determinant of oral drug bioavailability.Improvement of solubility is the key to development of this kind of drug.Among the methods of solubilization for poorly soluble drugs,self-microemulsion,solid dispersion and cyclodextrin inclusions are three popular solubilization techniques.Based on related references,in this review we discussed the conception, formulation strategies, and application of these kinds of solubilization techniques. At the same time,we summarized the carriers involved in these solubilization techniques, described the hotspots and application prospects of the current development in this area.
