PD-1/PD-L1 pathway in the development and treatment of tumors: a review of literature
CHE Zhang-hong
Abstract:PD-1/PD-L1 pathway has been shown to play an immunosuppressive role in the activation and proliferation of T cells in vitro and in vivo.It has been confirmed that PD-1/PD-L1 is highly expressed in various tumor tissues such as melanoma,non-small cell lung cancer, liver cancer, lung cancer and kidney cancer,so as to form an immunosuppressive microenvironment and promote the occurrence, development, invasion and metastasis of tumors.Inhibitors targeting PD-1,such as pembrolizumab and atezolizumab, have been approved by the FDA for therapy of malignant melanoma and non-small cell lung cancer. In addition, atezolizumab,an inhibitor of PD-L1,is also undergoing clinical trials and expected to be used in cancer therapy in the near future.
