Abstract:Objective:To determine the clinical efficacy and safety of urapidil in comparison with nitroglycerin in the treatment of acute heart failure in elderly hypertensive patients complicated with diabetes mellitus. Methods:The clinical data of acute heart failure in 94 elderly hypertensive patients complicated with diabetes mellitus from July 2014 to October 2016 were analyzed retrospectively. The patients in control group were treated with nitroglycerin injection for 1 week, and others were treated with urapidil injection for 1 week. The changes in DBP,SBP,HR,and cardiac indicators (NT-proBNP and LVEF) were compared between the patients in two groups before and after treatment. The biochemical indexes such as creatinine, cholesterol,LDL and fasting blood glucose were compared as well. Results:After treatment, the levels of creatinine, cholesterol, fasting blood glucose,SBP,NT-proBNP and adverse reactions were significantly lower in urapidil group than in control group (P <0.05).However,LVEF was significantly higher in urapidil group than in control group (P < 0.05).Conclusion:Urapidil is effective in the treatment of acute heart failure in elderly hypertensive patients complicated with diabetes mellitus, and is worth promotion.
