Abstract:Type Ⅱ diabetes is insulin-dependent,mainly caused by insulin resistance or barrier in islet cells' function of secreting insulin. The research and development of drugs for type Ⅱ diabetes is always the emphasis of medicine research. In recent years, the research and development of G protein-coupled receptor (GPR) as a target for anti-diabetic drugs has become a new hot spot.GPR is a general designation of the peptide membrane protein receptor. Its agonists can enhance islet cells' function through the activation of GPR,then enhance the secretion of insulin as well as the body's sensitivity to insulin to a certain degree, which have the potential for treatment of type Ⅱ diabetes. This article briefly introduces several mechanisms of GPR related with type Ⅱ diabetes, together with the research progress of GPR agonists with different structures.
