Research progress in orexin receptor and its inhibitors

Abstract：Orexin receptor (OXRs) is a kind of G-protein coupled receptor,which can enhance the signal transduction between different synapses when activated,then regulates physiological processes,such as sleep,obesity,addiction and so on.OXRs small molecule inhibitors showed great potential in the treatment of insomnia,drug addiction and other diseases,and has become a research hotspot.In this review,we briefly introduced OXRs and related physiological functions and presented the latest research progress in OXRs antagonists of different structural types in details to provide a reference for the design and development of effective OXRs antagonists.
